Ingredients:
• 1 medium onion (yellow or white)
• 1/2 cup raw organic honey
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Onion:
• Peel and slice the onion into thin rings or small pieces.
2. Layer the Ingredients:
• In a clean glass jar, create layers by placing a few onion slices, then covering them with honey. Repeat until the jar is full or the ingredients are used up.
3. Let It Infuse:
• Cover the jar with a lid and let it sit at room temperature for 6-8 hours or overnight. The onion will release its juices, combining with the honey to create a syrup.
4. Strain (Optional):
• If desired, strain the mixture to remove onion pieces. You can also leave the onion slices in and scoop around them.
5. Store:
• Transfer the syrup to a sterilized jar or bottle and store it in the refrigerator. It will keep for up to a week.
How to Use:
• Take 1-2 teaspoons every 3-4 hours as needed to ease coughing and soothe your throat.
Why It Works:
• Honey: Soothes the throat and has natural antibacterial properties.
• Onion: Acts as a natural expectorant, helping to loosen mucus and clear airways.
